What is First-Aid?

First-aid refers to medical attention that is usually administered immediately after the injury occurs and at the location where it occurred. It’s often consists a one-time, short-term treatment and administered by certified EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians). First-aid can include cleaning minor cuts, scrapes or scratches; treating a minor burn, applying bandages and dressings; recommending non-prescription medicine; removing debris from the eyes; drinking fluids to relieve heat stress; treating minor sprains and strains, etc.

Why Have Onsite First-Aid?

Medix MedCALL offers coverage 24/7/365 to respond to your location for non-life threatening injuries and illnesses. This helps to keep the cost of injuries to a minimum by providing early first-aid intervention and follow-up. We arrive with all equipment and supplies necessary to treat first-aid injuries. Onsite care is immediate and can reduce work comp claims, prevent unnecessary clinic visits, avoid time loss, and improve productivity.

What if an Employee Requires a Higher Level of Medical Attention?

Our highly-trained professional EMTs will provide a full assessment of the worker’s injury and will determine the appropriate treatment and follow-up care. The majority of our first-aid incidents are successfully treated at the scene and the employee is able to return to full work duty.

If there is a need for elevated medical care the employee will be transported round trip to your preferred clinic or after-hours emergency department. With Medix MedCALL you have an alternative to having the worker take themselves for treatment or the liability risk of having other employees transport an injured worker.

Is Medical Transport Limited to Clinics and Hospitals Only?

Medix MedCALL can transport your workers to follow-up medical appointments and physical therapy sessions. Workers suffering from personal illness can be transported home and later returned to the workplace.

Does Medix MedCALL Offer Substance Abuse Testing?

We provide 24/7 drug screening and breath alcohol testing for post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and random programs. Our EMTs receive Federal and Non Federal drug screening and breath alcohol training. Certification is obtained from LifeLoc Technologies trainers through BioMed Testing Labs.
